Maribyrnong Youth Advisory Committee 2025 - Expressions of Interest now open!
The Maribyrnong Youth Advisory Committee (MYAC) brings together young people aged between 15 - 25 years who are passionate about their local community and leading positive change.
MYAC represents the diverse voices of young people within the City of Maribyrnong by advocating for issues affecting Maribyrnong’s young people and leading various community projects.
Benefits of joining MYAC
By joining MYAC you will:
- Connect like-minded young advocates from the Maribyrnong municipality.
- Strengthen the links between young people and Council.
- Inform Council of issues relating to improving practices, policies and programs for young people.
- Provide advice to inform the development of programs and projects specific to young people.
- Conduct research and consultations among young people in the City of Maribyrnong.
- Provide a platform for young people to advocate for priorities that are important to them.
Allocated Maribyrnong City Councillor attends every second Committee meeting.
MYAC meetings are held fortnightly on a Wednesday evening, meetings start at 5:30pm and conclude at 7:00pm. We offer a hybrid model you can either attend via Zoom or in person at the Phoenix Youth Centre.
We encourage applications from young people from diverse communities, including:
- Culturally and linguistically diverse
- LGBTQIA+
- Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander
- Young people living with a disability
How to apply
Submit your expression of interest for the Maribyrnong Youth Advisory Committee in 2025 by completing the EOI below, you will then receive a confirmation email with next steps.
