Stretching Tips for Better Flexibility & Recovery
Published on 26 February 2025
Looking to boost your mobility and ease muscle soreness? Stretching is a simple yet powerful way to keep your body feeling great.
Regular stretching is important at any age and helps with your range of motion, strength and maintenance of your body. Whether you're training for an endurance event, or looking to add muscle, stretching is an important part of every routine.
Here's some key tips from MAC's trainers to help get the most out of your routine:
Warm Up First – Stretching cold muscles can lead to injury. Get your blood flowing with light movement, like walking or arm circles, before you start.
Hold, Don’t Bounce – Stick to static stretches, holding each position for 15-30 seconds. Bouncing can cause strain and reduce effectiveness.
Breathe & Relax – Deep, steady breaths help release tension and enhance your stretch. Focus on relaxing into each movement.
Make It a Habit – Aim for 5-10 minutes of stretching daily, especially after workouts or long periods of sitting, to maintain flexibility and prevent stiffness.
Incorporate these simple tips into your routine and feel the difference.
