Active Teens

MAC's Active Teens program encourages teenagers to be more active, stay fit and live a healthy lifestyle. The sessions are also aimed at helping teenagers become familiar with a positive gym environment. 

Program

The program encompasses both cardio and strength based exercise with dedicated qualified instructors. The program is available for 13 – 17 year olds who are looking to participate in regular physical activity in a safe controlled environment.

Program sessions can include compound movements, and educational session on how to use a specific machine or perform exercises correctly. There are also cardio based exercises and some strength movements focuses such as squat, press and pull movements.

Sessions are available at 5pm on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays and are limited to five participants per session.

Consider becoming a member

The MAC Active Teens membership offers teenagers the opportunity to participate in professionally instructed gym sessions, group fitness classes and unlimited access to pools. All Active Teens members have access to the following areas of MAC:

  • Health club between 5:45am and 5:30pm on each weekday.
  • Access to group fitness classes between 5:45am and 6pm on each weekday.
  • Pools all day, 7 days a week.

Please note the Active Teens membership does not include access to spa, sauna and steam room facilities.

Before you begin

All Active Teens members must attend an initial consultation with a parent or guardian present, prior to starting. This consultation will cover gym etiquette, a health assessment and a personalised program will be written for each member. Every 6 to 8 weeks, members can book a reassessment to keep on track and motivated.

At 18 years of age, members will be required to upgrade from the Active Teen membership to an adult membership option.
