Maribyrnong Libraries are committed to offering a safe, welcoming and inclusive space for everyone.

To ensure our spaces are enjoyed by everyone, whenever you enter our facilities, you commit to the following Code of Conduct.

Respect

Staff, other library users and faciltly equipment are to be treated with respect at all times.

Speak

Speak calmly.  No swearing or yelling will be tollerted.

Listen

Follow instructions from library staff.

Behave

Conduct yourself politely at all times.  Agressive or threatening behaviour will not be tollerated.

If you breach this Code of Conduct, you will be asked to leave.

Children must be supervised at all times

We remind families that children should not be left unsupervised in the library and that there is an expectation that parents actively participate in early years programs and stay on site to passively supervise their children during primary aged programs.

Your belongings

While we work to maintain a safe space we ask that customers contribute by taking responsibility for belongings brought into the library. Library staff are unable to supervise bags, laptops, clothing and other personal items left unattended at the library.

In the event of an emergency

In the case of an emergency please follow the directions from library staff and emergency services personnel.
