Fringe Westside returns in 2024 with an incredible program of live events happening in Maribyrnong as part of the Melbourne Fringe Festival running from 1-20 October.
Be sure not to miss Free Fairy Floss, a magical, FREE outdoor event created especially for Maddern Square Footscray. This beautiful and surreal family-friendly work features aerial performance, live music and, yes, free fairy floss.
The Bluestone Church Arts Space will host three highly engaging contemporary performances. Electric Cathedral will transform the space into a multi-media feast for the senses, as six ‘a capella’ singers guide you through uniquely human questions against the backdrop of projected ‘virtual cathedral.’ Meanwhile, set in suburban west Melbourne and written by emerging local playwright James Madsen-Smith, Dirty Old Town explores the intersecting themes of youth and class in an intimate theatrical environment. Finally, critically acclaimed Jack and Millie allows us to delve in to the world of receiving a life-threatening diagnosis, in a witty and gritty re-imagination of the author’s own breast cancer journey.
Fringe Westside shows will also feature at Footscray Community Arts, Kindred Studios, Pride of Our Footscray, Waterside Forge and Mamma Chens.
You can explore all the events further below and book your tickets now because...Nowhere does Fringe like Melbourne's west!
