Below you'll find the answers to some of the most frequently asked questions about the New Year's Eve Fireworks Event at Footscray Park.

When is the event?
Tuesday 31 December 2024 from 6.00pm to 10.30pm.
What time are the fireworks?
The fireworks display will begin at 9.30pm.
Where is the event?
The event will be held on Footscray Park's, Western Lawn.
How much does it cost?
This is a free community event for everyone to enjoy!
Can I bring my dog?
This event is for the whole family but for their own safety, please leave your dog at home. Fireworks can be stressful for pets. Visit the RSPCA's website for tips on caring for your pets during fireworks displays.
What if there are adverse weather conditions?
Rain, hail or shine the event will go ahead! However, in the event of dangerous weather conditions, such as high winds or fire bans, the firework display may be cancelled. Updates will be made available on the night.
Medical help and lost children
If your child goes missing, please inform a member of our event team, Victoria Police, or on-site security. Our team is trained in handling lost children and will act swiftly to assist you. St John Ambulance will also be on-site throughout the event to provide medical assistance if needed.
Are there ATMs on-site?
No, there are no ATMs available on-site however, our food trucks will accept EFTPOS payments.
What should I bring?
You are welcome to bring picnic blankets and low fold out chairs. High chairs or gazebos are not allowed and will be moved to the side of the event to ensure clear views for other attendees. As this is an outdoor event, we recommend bringing sun protection, insect repellent and appropriate wet weather gear depending on the forecast.
What food is available?
There will be over 20 food trucks offering a variety of delicious options for you to enjoy.
Can we bring our own food?
Yes, picnics are welcomed. Please note that no BBQs are not permitted inside Footscray Park.
Can I bring alcohol?
No, this is a strictly alcohol-free event. Anyone found consuming alcohol may face penalties.
How do I get to there?
Footscray Railway Station is only a short walk to the event and there will be FREE public transport from 6pm.
There will also be FREE shuttle buses from Footscray Train Station taking patrons to and from the event.

Is car parking available on-site?
There is no car parking on-site and we encourage all attendees to access the event via public transport.
Accessible Parking
Accessible parking is available on site up until 9.30pm. To park, please make your way to the event site via Maribynong Boulvard and one of our traffic controllers will assist you.
