One Night in Footscray

One Night in Footscray was an annual event celebrating the inherent creativity of the Maribyrnong municipality within central Footscray.

A self-guided twilight journey, visitors can view and engage in a variety of high-quality creative and artistic experiences, across different mediums and in unexpected locations – all on one night!

The event aims to:

  • encourage journeys through central Footscray and its creative spaces
  • position Footscray as a creative centre
  • highlight and showcase the work of local artists and makers
  • create new opportunities to engage with art in public spaces
  • grow the audiences of each participating venue, and encourage cross-fertilisation of those audiences
  • support emerging practitioners and students, creating a platform for them to showcase their work
  • promote and encourage audiences and artists to see, experience and interpret Footscray, its people and places.
