Late payments

To avoid extra costs, please pay the amount in the instalment box of your rate notice on or before the due date.

Any late payments will be charged interest and will continue to accrue interest until we receive full payment (including interest owing). The interest rate charged on overdue rates and charges is fixed by the Attorney General, under the Penalty Interest Rates Act 1983, at 10 per cent per annum.

We will issue a rates instalment notice for the second, third and fourth instalments, and we may then take legal action without further notification.

Difficulties paying rates

Please contact us immediately, we may be able to negotiate your repayment arrangements before you miss a payment.

Deferred payment

In some cases Council can make arrangements for eligible pensioners to defer their payment. Please contact us for further information.
