Reusable Nappies Feasibility Study
Did you know disposable nappies comprise up to 15% of waste going to landfill?
Reusable nappies offer environmentally conscious parents an option that reduces environmental pressure and saves money in the long run.
We wanted to know how to support parents in their reusable journey, so along with 11 other Melbourne Councils, we took part in the Reusable Nappy Feasibility Study.
Researchers heard from almost 3,000 parents who helped us understand parents' barriers to using more reusable nappies and fewer disposables. Key recommendations:
- A joint communication strategy and campaign.
- Opportunities for community members to experience and connect over reusable nappies.
This project is supported by the Recycling Victoria Councils Fund, delivered by Sustainability Victoria on behalf of the Victorian Government.
