Detox your home is safe, free and easy to use.

Use this service to dispose of common household chemicals without harming the health of you, your loved ones or the environment.

There is no limit on the volume of materials you drop-off, however the maximum acceptable weight or size of any single container is 20 kilograms or 20 litres. Decanting is not permitted so bring chemicals in disposal containers.

There are up to 33 Detox Your Home mobile collections in Victoria each year. The program is run by Sustainability Victoria in partnership with local councils.

Less toxic items – paint, household batteries, fluorescent tubes and compact fluorescent lamps – can be taken to a permanent Victorian drop-off site. The closest available Detox your home drop off site is the Moonee Valley Transfer Station.
