Maribyrnong Community Centre will soon be home to co-located Randall Street Kindergarten, which, once complete, will provide an additional 66 new 3 and 4-year-old kinder places.

Works have already commenced on the $2 million project, jointly funded by the Victorian Government, which will see two new playrooms, children’s amenities, office space and an outdoor play area. The much-loved community centre will also receive refurbishments to the existing multi-purpose room and amenities; while staying open throughout the works.

City of Maribyrnong Mayor, Cr Sarah Carter, welcomed the State Government's $1.8 million funding boost and said the 66 new kindergarten places are a win for the local community.

“We know that there is a greater need for more kindergarten places, and Randall Street Kindergarten will support Maribyrnong’s youngest residents to start their learning journey,” said Mayor Carter.

Enrolments for 2024 are now open via Council’s central registration system. A special pop-up playgroup session is also being held in May at the Centre to provide interested families with more information.  To book, please visit: maribyrnong.vic.gov.au
