Get a Taste of Creative West

Council presents an afternoon of music and live performance in the heart of Footscray on Saturday 6 April. Headlined by acclaimed artist Jen Cloher joined by T’HONI and MC’d by the multi-talented Jacinta Parsons, Get a Taste of Creative West will bring an array of artists and performers, including Nikodimos and his Orchestra, Snuff Puppets, L2R Dance and Women's Circus, to engage the community on the proposed future site of Creative West.

With its eclectic line up featuring contemporary music, circus performances, puppet shows and dance, Get a Taste of Creative West will highlight Creative West’s potential to elevate Footscray’s role and reputation as a thriving centre for art and culture.

Showcasing interactive workshops for the kids, a cavalcade of artists working the crowds and main stage musical acts to indulge in, Get a Taste of Creative West invites you, your family and friends to celebrate with us!

Bring a rug, your deck chair, a picnic basket, your nearest & dearest, and, most of all, bring your imagination as Get a Taste of Creative West has something for everybody!

Join us for an afternoon of immersion into the creative arts at the Carpark on the corner of Paisley and French Streets in Footscray.

Get a Taste of Creative West is an alcohol-free event. Free water will be provided.

How to get to Get A Taste of Creative West

Event Venue: Carpark, Corner French and Paisley Streets, Footscray VIC 3011
Main Entry via Paisley Street Driveway

By car

Off street car parking will be available at 71-73 Paisley Street opposite the event. There are also plenty of parking options around the event location, please check parking signs where you park.

By train

A 10-minute stroll from Footscray Train Station. Alight on Irving Street side, cross over the Leeds Street and walk up to Paisley Street, turn left and walk down to the Carpark.

By tram

#82 Tram – Stop 62 – Nicholson and Droop Streets, walk through Nicholson Street Mall and turn right on Paisley Street and walk down to the Carpark.
