Following two years of renovation and restoration works to return the historic Town Hall building for community use, the new and improved space, now known as the Civic Precinct and Community Hub, is now complete.
To celebrate, Council will be hosting an official opening of the redeveloped space on Sunday 9 February from 10.30am, and welcomes local residents to attend and experience the renewed community space in person.
The official opening ceremony will include live music, a Welcome to Country and Smoking Ceremony, and the official plaque unveiling.
The official proceedings are scheduled for 11:30am, allowing time for residents to wander through the building via a self-guided tour with a scavenger hunt for the kids, opportunity to take in the art collection, and enjoy a performance from the Footscray Yarraville City Band from 10.30am.
For those arriving by car, please note there will be no parking available on site. Please park on nearby streets.
