Heritage Database Online
The City of Maribyrnong has many heritage places including buildings, precincts, industrial and archaeological sites, parks, trees and objects. These heritage places reflect the different phases of the City’s development, from pre-European aboriginal cultural heritage to early European settlement and the later influence of the manufacturing and defence industries. We have documented these heritage places in a number of heritage studies.
This information is now available on the Maribyrnong Heritage Database.
The database includes relevant 'Statements of Significance' and information about history, physical descriptions and photographs of places of significance included in the Heritage Overlay.
The database is searchable by heritage place name, street name or heritage overlay (HO) number. Please read the terms and conditions of use before searching.
It is important to note this information is supporting information to the planning scheme and should not be relied upon to determine what planning controls affect a property. A Planning Property Report will provide information on the relevant zoning and overlays (including the heritage overlay) that affects individual properties. A Planning Property Report can be obtained from the State Government Land website.
