Maribyrnong is home to over 100 beautiful parks, gardens, recreation areas and playgrounds.

Discover our wonderful parks and gardens including the 15 hectare Footscray Park, located between the Maribyrnong River and Ballarat Road. Footscray Park was reserved for the public in 1911 after strong campaigning by the local community. It holds huge scientific, social and historical significance today. It is the largest Edwardian period garden in Victoria, boasting a wide variety of beautiful plants, including its famous palms. The impressive collection of horticulture includes pockets of Indigenous plants and the bird-watching paradise of Newell's Paddock. Visitors can walk, jog or cycle along the beautiful Maribyrnong River Trail or take part in a number of activities on the water, including scenic cruises and rowing lessons.

From three metre tall dinosaurs to 22 metre-long steel aeroplanes, Maribynong's playgrounds will amaze and delight both young and old - see here for our guide to the City's best.
