This counter collects two types of qualitative data on the movement of cyclists and pedestrians along the cycle lane and footpath: 

  1. Total numbers aggregated in 60 minute time intervals.
  2. Direction of travel.

 

Why this location?

This cycle lane and footpath is a key connection between Footscray and other western suburbs and into Melbourne CBD.

This sensor, used in combination with other counters at Rupert Street and in Footscray, can provide additional insights into cycling and pedestrian trends.  

These data trends on the busiest areas of our cycling network can help inform decision-making on infrastructure solutions.
