Maribyrnong Aquatic Centre Splash Park and Water Slides

Council is constructing a new splash park and waterslides at Maribyrnong Aquatic Centre (MAC), which will include the installation of:

a new 400 square metre splash park with two waterslides and change rooms
new site sheds and fencing along the eastern side of the Centre that borders Maribyrnong Secondary College.

Update - July 2024

Due to the liquidation of the contractor in September 2023, construction works have been temporarily ceased at the Maribyrnong Aquatic Centre.

A thorough review and redesign of the structural elements has been completed, complemented by comprehensive structural and civil site surveys to provide up-to-date condition reports. This groundwork is crucial for the next phase of the project.

Council is now preparing to initiate the tender process, with the goal of appointing a new contractor and obtaining an amended building permit to re-commence construction at the earliest opportunity to complete the remainder of the works.

An updated timeline for the project will be shared upon the appointment of a new contractor.
