Highpoint Activity Centre, Maribyrnong

The existing bulky goods and industrial area to the west and south-west of Highpoint Shopping Centre was rezoned in 2016 to facilitate a medium rise mixed use activity centre.

The Highpoint Urban Design Framework guides the future development of the precinct, with a range of retail, office, bulky goods and residential development of varying scale expected over the next 20 years.

As of August 2022, the following applications have been approved:

• 19-21 White Street, 12 storey building containing retail at ground floor, 268 dwellings and approximately 290 car parking spaces.
• 14-16 Williamson Road, 10 storey building containing retail at ground floor, offices and 124 dwellings with approximately 170 car parking spaces.
• 82-96 Hampstead Road, 157 townhouses (12 x four storey & 145 x three storey) with over 450 car parking spaces.
• 7 Sloane Street, 10 storey building containing retail at ground floor, 28 dwellings and 28 car parking spaces.

In addition, Council has approved the Highpoint Shopping Centre Development Plan, which will guide the future development of the shopping centre precinct over the next 20-30 years. A copy of the approved Development Plan is available below.
