Braybrook North Employment Precinct Framework Plan
The Braybrook Ballarat Road North Employment Precinct (hereafter, Braybrook North Employment Precinct) is classified as Core Employment Area by the Maribyrnong Economic and Industrial Development Strategy 2011 (MEIDS) requiring the preparation of a Framework Plan to guide future use and development. A framework plan is a land use plan that sets out the desired vision and spatial outcome for an area and strategic directions to achieve them.
Location
The Braybrook North Employment Precinct is generally bounded by Ballarat Road to the south, Ashley Street to the east, the Cranwell Park Reserve and Maribyrnong River to the north, and Duke Street to the west. It is made up of three sub-precincts adjoined by retailing, open space, educational institutions, as well as residential neighbourhoods.
Current Status and Next Steps
Consultation on existing issues and opportunities with key businesses, public authorities and service providers has provided Council with enough feedback to proceed with developing future directions on land use and development. A draft Framework Plan is being prepared and is anticipated to be considered by Council in the second half of 2022. Following Council consideration, the draft will be made available for public consultation and feedback.
