Joseph Road Precinct DCP

The Joseph Road Precinct DCP requires developers to make a contribution or provide works-in-kind towards new public realm infrastructure needed to support the precinct. These include road upgrades, footpaths and bike paths, street trees and furniture, drainage and traffic improvements. 

The DCP applies to all new developments within the Joseph Road Precinct in Footscray and only provides for the charging of a Development Infrastructure Levy (DIL). 

If the council agrees to works-in-kind in lieu of the payment of the DIL, the owner must enter into an agreement under section 173 of the Planning and Environment Act 1987 in respect of the proposed works-in-kind arrangements.
