Report Ticket Machine Faults

You can now easily and conveniently report faulty parking ticket machines to Council.

SMS Council

SMS the fault starting with the machine number and your vehicle registration to 0488 555 500.

The benefit to you is the low cost of sending an SMS and there is no time spent waiting to get through to an operator. You will also receive immediate SMS acknowledgement via the mobile phone you message from.

You can also send a message from Telstra phone boxes but be sure to enter a mobile phone number if you wish to receive an SMS confirmation. Please note that an SMS cannot be sent to landline numbers.

Why Should You Report Faults?

It is important to contact Council if you park without a valid parking ticket as the result of a faulty ticket machine. When you report a problem, Council’s maintenance team is able to quickly investigate and repair the fault. We will keep a record of the time, date, location, ticket machine number and the completed maintenance report. These details help us determine the outcome of parking infringement appeals when a machine is out of order.

Respect Time Limits on Parking Bays

Time limits are set on parking spaces to allow as many people as possible to have parking access. If you stay longer than the time allowed you are likely to receive a Parking Infringement Notice. Purchasing another parking ticket beyond the maximum time allowed for that parking space does not protect you from a fine.
